Jennifer’s Song ~ National Poetry Month, Day 19

I will come to you
On my hands and belly
Pulling across the vacant sky
In my nightgown
I will come to you
From the bottom of a black lake
Floating to the surface
Silver fish in my hands
wet grass in my hair
I will come to you
On the back of a thundering
Red horse
Across sand and purple plains
I will come to you
Dripping from the face of the moon
Cool opalescent drops
In your eyes…

And you will take me
Into your mouth
Into your lungs
Into the palm of your hand
This time,
You will
Take
Me
